Glockenspiel

Glockenspiel

According to wordweb (a one-click English thesaurus and dictionary for Windows), glockenspiel is a percussion instrument consisting of a set of graduated metal bars mounted on a frame and played with small hammers.

I took this picture during the Tagbilaran Saulog Festival in one of the finalists who showed interest and smile when I pointed my camera to them.

It is also a throwback for since I used to play this instrument during my high school years, from first year until I graduated. I was part of a Drum and Lyre Corps of our school. We called this instrument as ‘lyre’ and we are called lyrist. This instrument is bit heavy but i was able handle it. Up until now i still have the instrument and it is still working except for the key ‘C’ which is the most used key. Should i encourage you to try playing this, it can be buy in a department store for an affordable price available for small and big sizes.

Did i inspired you?
