Nowadays, people want to get rid of stress and explore new places. There’s a new breath-taking creation for you to enjoy found in Cadapdapan, Candijay, Bohol. It is the Can-Umantad falls located approximately 12 kilometers from the highway of Lungsod-daan barangay of Candijay.
I will share to you guys our experiences throughout our travel.
How to get to Candijay?
You can ride either van or a bus in Tagbilaran City Dao Terminal. Travel time is roughly 2-3 hours. Be sure to stop at barangay Lungsod-daan market. The road to Can-umantad is in the left side of the market.
How to get to Can-Umantad Falls?
If you are to a public transportation, hire a “habal-habal” or a motorcycle. They always stay near the highway. I suggest you ride the same motorcycle back and forth for a sure travel. It is quite far from the highway. Only few motorcycle stay in Can-Umantad to fetch passengers. Make an agreement with the driver either will they wait for you or will just come back on the time agreed.
How much is the entrance fee?
In public entrance the charge is only P10.00. The private entrance of Eleuterio’s Can-Umantad Falls & Rice Terraces Resort Incorporated charge is P30.00 and additional P20.00 for motorcycle parking fee.
What to bring?
Always bring the food and water. The place is quite far from any store so better a scout. Use a strong but comfy slippers or shoes. Expect a long and rough walk. Don’t forget to bring along with you your camera for documentation purposes.
What can you expect to Can-Umantad Falls?
I don’t want to spoil your experience but I just want to let you see how wonderful the place is. If you’re tired of going to the beach every summer, this must be a fantastic idea to travel to a terrific falls.
The Can-Umantad falls is said to be as the tallest falls in Bohol. I saw it myself and it was splendid.
Can-Umantad Falls at its Finest
We were four traveler then. Divided by two, the other half tracked the private entrance while we went after the public entrance.
There is a dressing room in Can-Umantad falls wherein travelers allowed to change clothes. There is also one cottage worth P150.00.
As we headed back, we chased the path towards the private entrance. It was a very long-high-peak walk consisting of approximately 214 staircase. It was quite wearying. Just be sure to watch every step. You’ll get to passed the natural swimming area where there is also a floating cottage.
We reach to the private entrance and i was shocked that we charge of the the exit fee. That was because we enter into a private property told the person in-charge.
The Eleuterio’s had just open last December 12, 2015.
There are available rooms which cost P1000.00 per night and a tent outside fronting the rice terraces worth P400.00 per night, for those who want to stay. There is also a restaurant.
